With all the adverts, blogs, tv shows and more focusing on building a new you, you’re probably starting to think about resolutions. Losing weight or improving your fitness are some of the most common resolutions, but they also rarely get achieved due to low motivation. We’re here to achieve your goals though with the perfect resolution!
Now, bear with us here, but the perfect resolution isn’t really a ‘resolution’ at all. It’s a target. A SMART target, to be precise! The best way to reach a target is by keeping it small and achievable, so you’re constantly reaching milestones and keep you moving in the right direction.
So, what is a SMART target? It’s an acronym, and it stands for the five attributes every target should have:
Specific – What is your target, and what’s your reasoning for it?
Measurable – Can you keep track of it? How will you know you’ve accomplished it?
Achievable – How do you achieve this target? Are there any constraints that may prevent you from achieving it?
Relevant – Is this target personal to you? How would it benefit you?
Time-based – When would you achieve this? How much are you able to do daily?
As you can see, there’s a lot more to a SMART target than simply saying you want to lose weight! Stick to these rules though and you should smash those goals!
