We offer a personalised service with a high level of professionalism, to suit the needs of the local community and the individual. We pride ourselves on never forgetting a face – everyone gets a warm welcome and soon feels part of the Brio Leisure family.
About the company
Brio Leisure is a Community Interest Company which was created in May 2011. We’re wholly owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council (stakeholder), and we are a company limited by guarantee. Our original 4-year contract ended in March 2015, and in April 2015 we commenced a new contract term for 15 years.
Brio Leisure was not created for private gain: any profits or assets are used for the benefit of the community so we can give you the best experience possible. Any profits or surplus made gets reinvested back into the company.
The objects of the company are to carry out activities that benefit all the inhabitants of Cheshire West and Chester, as well as those visiting the county and those living or working outside the area. Currently, this includes the provision of leisure centres, entertainment halls, playing pitches, health and social services, and the promotion of integrated wellness programmes, including weight management, physical activity and smoking cessation. The intention is to improve the general wellbeing of the people living in and visiting the area, and to provide improved opportunities for all those in the area with affordable, accessible and fit-for-purpose recreational and social facilities.
The new contract term sees a journey for us, which moves from us being in a position of financial support by our stakeholder, towards a self-sustaining model in later contract years. This will ensure that we can continue to provide leisure services to the borough in the future.
