Brio Celebrates Double National Win at ukactive Leisure Awards!

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news, Brio has been recognised nationally with two awards at this year’s ukactive Awards, including the top honour of Outstanding Organisation of the Year!

With over 4,000 leisure organisations across the UK in the running, the ukactive Awards are ridiculously competitive. They celebrate the best in the business and organisations making a real difference to people’s health, wellbeing and their communities too.

educational programme of the year 

Awarded for our industry-leading Teacher Training Academy and Rising Stars programme, launched in January 2024 - and what a success it has been.

-              54 aspiring swim teachers joined the pathway

-              31 have achieved their level 1 & 2 swim qualifications

-              Many have joined our workforce – we love to see it! 

This programme is helping address a national shortage of swim teachers and giving more children access to a vital life skill – a massive achievement by our aquatics and training teams.

The final most prestigious award of the evening! Judges praised the huge impact we make on our communities. The award celebrates every part of our organisation – how incredible is that?

We were also finalists for the Digital Transformation Award, recognising the brilliant work behind our new website and mobile app, which makes a vast improvement to our members’ journey.

Brio services go beyond leisure. Delivered in partnership with Chester West & Chester Council, they include wellbeing programmes such as falls prevention, smoking cessation and weight management, alongside providing safe and welcoming spaces to bring people together and much more!
