Postnatal Positives: Benefits of Getting Back into Fitness!

After having a baby, it can be difficult to find the time and energy to get start exercising again. Don’t worry though, you’re not alone! Between the demands of looking after your newborn, work commitments, doctors appointments and everything else, it genuinely can be a bit of a struggle to squeeze in some weekly workouts.

To all the new mums out there, we’re here to help! That’s why we’ve started running some post-natal classes exclusively for you to start getting fit again! To get you motivated, here are three reasons you need to get back to fitness after having a baby:

Positive moods

When you exercise, your brain releases endorphins that improve your mood. Buggy Burn & Firm is a great way to build up a sweat and get those endorphins flowing! You’ll be joining us for a long walk with your baby in buggy, punctuated with spurts of exercises such as squats and lunges, and even baby lifts where your little one is the weight! Breathe in that fresh air and make some new friends! Classes run in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Northwich and Winsford.

Increasing your heart rate

Cardio exercise is the best way to keep in shape! It’ll leave you feeling breathless and it’s great for your heart and respiratory system. It’s also a great way to burn off any baby weight you might still have (we know it drives some of you mad!)

Our Postnatal Spin fitness class is a fantastic cardio workout – it’s highly effective at burning calories and building your overall fitness levels back up. Bring your baby along to this class in their car seat and pop them next to your bike while you work up a sweat!

Every Thursday at Northgate Arena, 10.45am – 11.30am with Nichola!

Strengthen core muscles and improve stability

A key part of recovering from bringing a baby into the world is building your core muscles back up. Our new Postnatal Conditioning focuses on body conditioning, increasing strength and pelvic stability. This is a nice way to ease back into exercise by building up strength and endurance!

Every Monday at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, 12.00pm – 12.45pm with Dora!

So there’s how getting back into fitness can benefit all you new mums! Don’t forget, you’re all in the same boat in these classes, so think of them as a great way to socialise and meet new friends, as well as a way to get fit.
