Smash the NHS exercise guidelines and win a MyVegan box!

It’s pretty obvious, but at Brio we’re all about keeping active. The NHS has some great guidelines on staying active, but for our June Gym Challenge, we wanted to take it one step further!

So, what does the NHS recommend?

According to their Live Well guidelines, adults (aged 19-64) should be doing both aerobic and strength exercises every week. This means at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity, and strength exercises on 2 or more days a week. Examples include:

– Brisk walking
– Cycling
– Jogging
– Hiking
– Basketball
– Aqua workouts
– Strength exercises that work all your major muscle groups

If you’d rather save some time (and work up a sweat), you can up the intensity of your workouts and cut down on time spent, such as 75 minutes of running or intense sports.

For our monthly Gym Challenge though, we’re focusing on that first 150 minutes of activity. However, we’re taking things one step further and doubling it! That’s right, to be in with a chance of winning, you need to complete 300 minutes of activity each week! We’re not monsters though, we’re sticking to the NHS guidelines so activities such as walking will all count towards the challenge. We want to ensure that we all have an incredibly active June, whether it’s in a Brio centre or outside in the sun (when it eventually shows up).

What’s the prize?

Our friends over at MyVegan have kindly put together a Powered by Nature sample pack, including a fancy shaker bottle, Carb Crusher bars and some protein treats!

To be in with a chance of winning, just download the Brio App* and join in the challenge! Available on Apple and Android devices now!

*App only available to Brio Premier, WorkFit and Concession members.
