Squash & Racketball
Brio Leisure has squash facilities available at 4 centres across Cheshire West and Chester, all of which have dedicated squash viewing areas and racquetball equipment is available to hire from reception areas.
Mini squash sessions and junior coaching are available throughout the week and squash clubs give members the opportunity to play competitive games.
Squash & Racketball are games that are easy to learn and can be enjoyed by any age group. They provide an excellent cardiovascular workout as they’re fast-moving, high impact and in one hour of playing squash, you can burn between 600 to 1000 calories. They provide a great upper and lower body workout, using your legs to run around the court and the arms and torso to reach and swing.
Because squash involves a lot of energy with frequent stopping and starting, it is important to follow some basic safety tips:
- If you haven’t exercised in a while or suffer from a medical condition please consult your doctor in advance or speak to a member of our fitness team on the best way to start your new exercise routine.
- Playing squash isn’t advisable if you suffer from a heart condition.
- It is advisable to wear protective eyewear, and this is compulsory for juniors.
- Please wear clean, appropriate footwear with a clear sole. This will ensure a good grip on the floor, stability to protect your ankles and won’t mark the courts.
