COVID-19

Tuesday 31 March - 3.00pm

Our Entertainment programme at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall, Neston Civic Hall and Northwich Memorial Court has been cancelled until the end of May.

We’re working to reschedule dates for shows and will be in touch with customers soon.

Tuesday 24 March - 1.00pm

Following Government guidance we will continue to remain closed until further notice. We continue to regularly review the situation, taking advice from the previously mentioned industry experts and are focused on keeping our customers active from afar through our social media accounts where you can tune in for daily workouts and health tips, or use the link below to access Les Mills workouts at home.

Thursday 19 March - 1.15pm

Working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, we have come to the difficult decision to close our leisure centres from Friday 20 March at 5.00pm (last entry 4.00pm). It’s a decision that we feel puts the safety and wellbeing of our customers ahead of anything else, and it’s the right thing to do. These closures along with the below Entertainment closures will be in place until the end of May unless it’s safe to open sooner as per government guidelines.

Tuesday 17 March – 16:58

Cheshire West & Chester Council and Brio have made the difficult decision that from midnight tonight the Civic Halls in Neston and Ellesmere Port will be closed and the Entertainment programme at Northwich Memorial Court will be cancelled until the end of April. We would like to reassure customers who have purchased tickets for shows between 18 March and 30 April 2020 that full refunds will be given including booking fees and any events or conferences that have been booked will not incur any cancellation charges. A member of the Brio team will be in touch with those who have venue hire bookings to confirm arrangements for cancellation or postponement in the coming days. For events scheduled in May onwards, we will make a decision in forthcoming weeks pending the Coronavirus situation and related PHE and government advice. Please keep checking for further updates.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers is always at the forefront of our decision making and this current situation is no different. We have been monitoring the evolving situation closely and have been in daily dialogue with Cheshire West and Chester Council and the Public Health team to ensure we have the latest guidance and direction available. This has helped us make informed decisions about our operations on a day to day basis.

It’s important to us that our customers feel safe, confident and relaxed when using our entertainment services and with social distancing now being recommended by the Government, we feel that this is the right decision given the difficulty in managing events with large numbers of people in the attendance and in close proximity to each other.

For our Leisure operations, we also follow industry guidelines on operating our leisure centres including advice from PWTAG (Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group); Sport England; UK Active; and H&S guidance from industry experts. Therefore, with the increased measures we have put in place for our leisure operations, regards enhanced cleaning and handwashing, this side of the business will remain open.  This is reviewed and monitored several times each day. We continue to encourage people not to use our centres if they feel unwell or if they show any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 to ensure the health and wellbeing of our other customers and employees.

Friday 13 March - 11.31am

All centres are currently open as normal. We’re doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our customers and members of staff, including additional cleaning routines, contactless checking in, and we’re complying with all Public Health England guidelines. We’re monitoring their updates closely and will take any further action at their recommendation.

Don’t forget, for the latest centre updates we recommend you follow your local centre on Facebook.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I freeze my membership?

We will be freezing everyone’s memberships automatically until our centres re-open, so don’t worry about rejoining or cancelling! You’ll get instant access as soon as our doors reopen.

What's happening with my annual membership?

Your membership will be extended based on the length of the closure and the remaining time on your membership.

I'd like to cancel my membership, how do I do this?

Just contact your local centre. You can view cancellation information in our Membership Terms but due to the disruption caused by COVID-19, we are waiving the one month’s payment notice we would normally require. As above though, there’s no need to cancel as we’re automatically freezing everyone. This ensures you’ll be able to get right back to working out as soon as we’re open!

What about swimming lessons?

We are freezing all swimming lessons, which guarantees the same lesson day and time as and when we re-open. If you choose to cancel, we can’t guarantee this. For those who have pre-paid, the current number of lessons you have left on your account will stay the same when we re-open.

I've booked to see a show, will it still go ahead?

Our shows, events and exhibitions until the end of May are currently cancelled and all customers will be contacted over the coming days to arrange a refund or rearrange a booking. For events scheduled in May onwards, we will provide a further update in the coming weeks.
