The benefits of indoor Spin classes2 Dec
Did you know that a good thirty minute workout on a spin bike can burn as much as 500 calories? Even at challenging levels, other cardio equipment couldn’t burn that many calories in such a short time.
Spinning is primarily an anaerobic exercise, pulling energy from your reserves and building up your muscular endurance over an extended period of time. However there are also aerobic benefits because spin workouts include both endurance and cardiovascular training.
Spin classes allow you to progress at your own pace as you control the amount of resistance applied as you gain strength and endurance each time you attend a class. Each spin bike has a resistance control within easy reach of the handle bars and the good thing is nobody really knows the level you’re working at, so you are free to progress at your own pace!
It won’t take long for your effort on a spin bike to show up as weight loss, and your leg muscles will begin to tone and change shape. Even if you are carrying a knee injury, you can still spin because spinning keeps pressure off your knees and feet.
Group exercise classes are great for anyone, regardless of fitness level. You’re more likely to stay motivated when working out in a group, and the social element means you’ll all help each other reach your goals. It’s a great way to meet new people and make new friends too!
We have spin classes across our centres, so take a look at our class timetables!
