Switch off and relax with Brio

More than ever right now it’s important to find ways that can help us to chill out and relax. We’ve put together some tips and techniques that can help you to find your ‘zen.’

Everybody relaxes in different ways, so it’s important to find a way that works best for you. These are just a few of our ideas that we hope can inspire you:

A hobby that you enjoy in the home
Whether you’re an avid reader, film fanatic or budding musician, participating in activities in the home that you enjoy is a great way to relax. Maybe you’ve discovered you’re a fabulous baker? Cooking and baking is also a brilliant way to chill out, particularly if you’ve just created some yummy treats! You can even find some recipes for you to have a go at on our blog!

Yoga and pilates
Stretching and breathing techniques are a great way to reduce tension and to help you to relax. Over on our Facebook page, we’ve been adding some yoga and pilates classes that incorporate these techniques, which you can do in the comfort of your own home. You can find these and more classes here.

Meditation
With all the distractions of the news and social media, it can sometimes be difficult to switch off and have peace and quiet. We have put together a video that we hope you can use when you just want to switch off, relax and enjoy some tranquillity.

You can listen to it whilst sitting on a chair or on the floor, through headphones or a speaker, in the dark or with the lights on, it’s all about what is most comfortable for you. You may even want to light an aromatic candle or put on some fairy lights to make your surroundings more atmospheric.

By listening to the chilled music and words, and focusing on your breathing, it can help you to feel more relaxed. If you are struggling to sleep at night, it may also be good to help clear your mind before you settle down for the night.
