Everything you need to know about the Brio Winsford Lifestyle Centre closure and repair works.
What am I able to do at the centre now?
The dry facilities, including gym, fitness classes, racquet sports and roller disco opened again at 10am on 19th August 🥳 The swimming pools and spa facilities will start to be reopened again from Thursday 8th September 👏 You can see the full info and schedule for this in our ‘Sept 2nd’ update at the bottom of this page 👇
Will I be compensated for the swimming pool closure?
Are you a Swim Only member?
As we are still working on the pool closure, it will be addressed within your September direct debit payment as a reduction by the proportionate monetary amount. Unfortunately, it was not possible to address this within August as the closure was not fully understood at that time. If you have paid in full by annual membership, the length of time will be added on to your annual membership term. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Are you a Brio Premier or WorkFit member?
That’s great! And thank you for being part of the Brio Family. We know it’s really frustrating that our pool facilities are currently closed, however all dry activities reopened again on the 19th August. Although we won’t be issuing refunds, you still have full access to all other 7 Brio centres, including Northwich Memorial Court. You can also still access all fitness classes, the gym, racquet sports and roller disco at Winsford.
We really appreciate your patience during this time and we can assure you that are team are working extremely hard to get the pool facilities back open again.
Can I use my membership at another centre?
Yes, of course you can 😊 Please feel free to use any of the other Brio sites throughout this pool closure period. Our other sites include Northwich Memorial Court, Ellesmere Port Sports Village, Frodsham Leisure Centre, Christleton Sports Centre, Neston Recreation Centre and the Northgate Arena. You can view all of our other centres and their facilities here
Will I be refunded for my child’s cancelled swimming lessons?
Yes, absolutely ✔️ Swimming lessons will be financially compensated.
Pay for your lessons by Direct Debit?
Those who pay by Direct Debit, we were unfortunately unable to adjust the payment on 22nd August as the authorisation had already been sent to the bank. We will, of course, provide you with a refund for the lessons you miss due to the closure within August and adjust your DD payment in September once we fully understand how long the pool will be closed for.
Pay for your lessons by cash?
Swimming lessons paid for in blocks of 10 have already been frozen from Tuesday 16th August. Once lessons resume, they will be unfrozen and your block will start counting from the date of your child’s first lesson after we have re-opened.
Can I still attend fitness classes or use the gym?
Yes, of course you can 💪 Our dry facilities all opened again on the 19th August. However, if you do like to take a dip in the pool or enjoy the sauna after your workout, please feel free to head over to Northwich Memorial Court. Winsford’s spa and swimming facilities remain closed.
However, we’re so pleased to announce we will be fully reopening again from Thursday 8th September👏. You can see the full info and schedule for this in our ‘Sept 2nd’ update at the bottom of this page 👇
My child has a Brio Summer Swim Pass. Can it be used at another centre?
Yes, that is not a problem 👍 If you are unable to travel to another site, then we will happily offer you a pro rated refund based on the closure period. Our team will be in touch with you to organise your refund.
If there’s anything we haven’t covered in the above FAQs, please feel free to contact one of our team members at Winsford on 01606 550700 or winsford@brioleisure.org

1st September 2022
Firstly, we’d like to say thank you again for your patience whilst our swimming facilities have been closed. Unfortunately, we’ve suffered a minor setback as we encountered another small leak in the system. We managed to jump on this pretty quickly though and stopped the flow of water. However, this means we’ve had to temporarily pause the refilling of the pool so the team can take a look at the issue today.
All being well, the pool refilling will be up and running again later on this afternoon. This does mean we cannot yet confirm a reopening date just yet.
We’re really sorry for this setback. We’ve been desperate to open up our pool again for all of our community, so we completely understand your frustration at this time.
Does your child have swimming lessons with us?
Please keep an eye on your home portal for updates on your swimming lessons. This will be updated regularly and will inform you if your lessons will go ahead or not.
30th August 2022
The leaky pipe has successfully been replaced and we started to fill the pool again on Saturday evening. The main pool holds a massive 124,440 gallons of water when full, so refilling it can take a few days. We’ve been advised that we are on schedule though to reopen our pool and spa facilities soon. We will update you as soon as we have a confirmed date.
22nd August 2022
Thank you to everyone for your patience so far. Over the weekend the team have been working hard to drain the pool and the flooding in our plant room. It’s looking likely that all the water will be removed by the middle of this week. The wet facilities will then receive a full deep clean ahead of re-opening. Keep your eyes on this space or our social pages for all the latest info.
19th August 2022
DRY SIDE ACTIVITIES NOW OPEN – The gym, fitness classes, racquet sports and roller disco are now back open! Spin @ 6pm and Zumba @ 6:15pm on 19th Aug will go ahead as planned.
