Brio Duty Manager helps take top spot at Henley 201426 Jun

Here at Brio Leisure we’re all really passionate about getting fit and active, and lots of our staff compete in sports at a high level. We’d like to say a massive ‘Congratulations!’ to Cheryl Tonkinson, Duty Manager at Christleton Sports Centre, for her recent participation in the Henley Women’s Regatta! Not only did Cheryl and the rest of her team take part – they won too!
Cheryl is a member of the Grosvenor Rowing Club, and was in the Regatta-winning crew along with Ellen Mitchell, Tanith Allwood, Leanne Ratcliffe and cox Sarah Turner. They emerged victorious in the intermediate club fours and claimed the Lester Trophy. Together they made Grosvenor Rowing Club history – 145 years after the clubs founding and 40 years since women were allowed to row there, the club took the honours in an event.
The crew and their coaches, Chris Hudson and Paul Turner, were presented their medals and trophy by London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Anna Watkins, and also were congratulated by Sir Steve Redgrave!
Well done Cheryl, we’re all really proud of you!!
