How do I book for swimming lessons?
Simply give us a call at the centre of your choice to book a swimming lesson induction. We will then discuss with you the best way to progress with the Brio Leisure Swimming lesson Programme.
Why does my child need an induction?
An induction means we can assess your child’s ability. This ensures they are placed in the correct class for their level. We understand that starting swimming lessons can seem scary, so if your child is a non swimmer they will find out where their lessons take and see the equipment they will be using. We also make sure that Mum and Dad are given some healthy and safety information too.
How long is the waiting list?
This depends on the child’s ability as some levels can be busier than others. We will always aim to allocate a place for every child as soon as one becomes available.
What scheme do you operate?
We follow the ASA National Teaching Plan through stages 1 – 10.
How long is each lesson?
Lessons for stages 1 – 7 are 30 minutes long, whilst stages 8 – 10 last for 45 minutes.
How long will it take to achieve a stage?
Every child progresses at their own pace. We will move them up when they have achieved all the criteria within a stage.
What happens when my child has achieved all the stages?
We have strong links with local exit clubs including competitive swimming, water polo, lifesaving and triathlon.
How do I know my child is progressing?
At the moment your child will receive a progress report at the end of every term. We are currently looking into introducing a new online progress system, that we hope will be available soon.
Can my child move mid term?
Our Brio Swim Team will advise you when your child is ready to move. If they complete the criteria of a stage mid term, we will always aim to move them as long as a space is available.
