Get interactive with discover tablets

As part of the new Northgate Arena gym suite, the cardio equipment will come fitted with Discover Tablets – these on board computers allow you to make your workout personal, get social and stay entertained!

You’ll be able to try out fantastic interactive courses – high definition interactive hikes, runs and bike rides through famous locations around the world. Destinations include France’s Col de la Colombiere and California’s Trinity Mountains. As you make your way through the courses, the machine controls the resistance or incline and video speed to replicate an authentic outdoor experience.

With the LFConnect mobile app, you’ll have access to your personal library of music, videos, apps and books. You can maintain and monitor workout results directly from the machine to your mobile device, and track your workout progress as you move between machines. You’ll also be able to connect with everyone in your social networks, directly through the Discover Tablet screens.

And as an added bonus, your mobile device will be charged while you workout, so you don’t need to worry about your battery dying!

The new Northgate Arena gym suite is due to open on 22 December 2014. The current gym will be closed from Monday 8 December to allow the new suite to be installed, but there will be a temporary gym running in the meantime – you can find out more details here.
