Do your little ones love the water? Then they’ll love Canoeing at Northgate Arena!

We’re big fans of learning to swim – it’s a fantastic skill that everyone should know! However, there’s lots more to swimming than simply doing lengths in the pool. As well as the synchronised swimming, diving and lifesaving lessons we offer across our pools, at Northgate Arena your little ones can also try out canoeing!

Canoeing is a fantastic sport to take up, and one that will compliment your child’s swimming lessons too! They’ll spend time in the Leisure Pool both in and out of the canoes, playing games and learning new techniques. These lessons are taken in small groups with instructors on poolside and in the water too, so your child gets some fantastic experience using the canoes!

Sessions are available every Sunday, 5.00pm – 7.00pm.

And have you got a little one with a big birthday coming up? Treat them to something special, something unique – treat them to a Canoeing Party at Northgate Arena!

Suitable for groups of up to 16, Canoeing Parties are great fun, and something many kids will have never tried before!

Making use of the large Leisure Pool, the parties start off with the kids getting used to being in their canoes and paddling around, before the fun really starts! They’ll be playing games with beach balls, shooting each other with water pistols, and “running across the raft” – holding the boats together and running across the tops of them.

We’ve had some fantastic feedback from these parties, with the kids absolutely buzzing afterwards! Plus it’s fantastic exercise and an active afternoon for them all.

Canoeing parties cost £90.00 for up to 8 children, or £140.00 for up to 16 children. This price includes all the equipment needed, and instructors on a ratio of 8 children:1 instructor for 55 minutes. Children must be aged 8 or over, and able to swim 25 metres of a recognised stroke for these parties.

Party slots are available 5.00pm – 6.00pm on Saturday’s and Sunday’s

We can also provide party food at an additional cost, or for an additional £20.00 you can hire a private room and bring your own food for the after-party tea!
